Per her obituary (Roseville Press-Tribune, 9-28-2005), Evelyn was a member of an early Roseville family and a life-time resident of Roseville. She grew up in the Maciel Tract which was named for her grandfather, and Evelyn Avenue was named for her. She graduated from Roseville High School in 1939 and married in 1942. She worked as a clerk-typist at the State while attending CSUS to obtain an elementary teaching credential. From there, she taught kindergarten for 26 years at Cirby and Crestmont elementary schools. Survived by her daughters Bernice, Nancy, and Nanette; 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
