DANBURY, NC ~ Carlene Virginia Hooker Bullins, 63, of Sisk Road, passed away, Friday, December 19, 2008, at Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2008, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel.

Carlene was born on July 12, 1945 in Stokes County to the late Merritt and Dorothy Puckett Hooker.

She was a member of Lawsonville Church of God, was a carrier for the Winston Salem Journal for 15 years, and was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, Nannie C, and friend to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Bullins in September, 2008; a brother, Clifford William Hooker and a sister, Eula Mae Flinchum.

Survivors include daughter, Teresa (Rickey) Hutchens of Lawsonville; sons; Eddie (Peggy) Bullins of Kernersville and Jeffrey Bullins of Winston-Salem; brothers, Forister (Inez) Hooker, Fred (Lillian) Hooker, and Gurney Hooker; a sister, Rebbeca "Becky" (Steve) Flinchum; six granddaughters, Dorcas (Michael) Collins, Anna (Joey) Bibee, Crystal (Rodney) Joyce; Jennifer (Chris) Cowden, Whitney Bullins, and Leslie Eades; six great-grandchildren; Allie, Katie, Megan, Cody, Justin, and Ryan.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2008, prior to the service, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel, and other times at the home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Stokes County, PO Box 10, Danbury, NC 27016.

Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
