Sect. 25, Wilcox Tp., early Ill. settler. Came to Jacksonville, Ill. 1820, from Ohio. Had come to Zanesville. Ohio with parents, 1804-18, and lived in the Sciota Valley, Ohio 1818-20. Farmer and stockraiser. Descendant of Capt. Miles Standish. Dr. Ero Chandler married June 1826, Mrs. Emeline Reed Cook by who he had 8 children, among them: Harris; Henrietta (Mrs. A.C. Hammond); Julia (Mrs. S.B. Loughridge); Emeline (Mrs. Salem Hammond); Seabury; and Charles. Dr. E.C. owns 200 acres and has given 300 acres to his children. (Source: Hancock Co.
