Dale was born August 3, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Henry Alvah Blunt, Jr. and Alice Louise Hoggan. Dale graduated from South High School and worked and retired from the Newspaper Agency Corporation as a web pressman maintenance foreman, printing the Deseret and Tribune newspapers. He married Ella Ann Bishop on April 7, 1947, best friends for 61 years. In 1950 they made a home out of an old chicken coop and built a swimming pool in the back yard, one of a kind. Dale and Ann were sealed together with their five children in the Salt Lake Temple on August 20, 1959. Dale by his example taught his kids that one could always change for the better and service for others is a shared joy in this life.
Dale enjoyed fixing, building and serving his family, friends and neighbors. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving faithfully in many callings. After he retired, Dale and Ann enjoyed traveling with friends in their RV "Inn Over Our Heads".
Dale is survived by his children; Craig and Connie, John and Shannon Peterson, Dave and Allison Toronto, Alan and Sherry, William and Gretchen, Lorinda Tortice, Jimson and Freda Joe, as well as 20 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren with two on the way and his sisters; Marian Huffaker, Carol (Jerry) Allen and Irene Blunt. The family wishes to thank the staff of CNS Hospice and Larkin Mortuary for their loving care.
The viewing will be Friday, July 20, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Saturday July 21st at 11:00 a.m. preceded by a viewing at 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. all to be held at 3400 South 1100 East at the Ridgedale Ward. Interment at Lake Hills Memorial Park on 104th South State Street.
