Mary was a Registered Nurse in the Burn-Trauma Center at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where she met and married her husband, Allan M. Parham, M.D.
She was a long time school library volunteer at St. Paul's Catholic School in New Bern, NC and the devoted mother of three children.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-eight years, Allan and by three children, Holly Wheatly of Greensboro, Brian Parham of Wilmington, and Matthew Parham of New Bern. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Mary Taylor Wheatly, now almost one month old and by her cousin, J. Frederick Gooding.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton Williams and Vera Reeves Davis; by her foster-parents/uncle and aunt, John and Fredrica Gooding; a brother, C. William J. David and by cousins, Robert J. Petermann and Rev. Morris B. Davis.
