William Henry Osborne, 78, of Rt. 1, Hurley, Va., died at his home Monday morning following a long illness.

He was a son of the late William and Mary Elizabeth Asbury Osborne.

He was owner and operator of the Knox Creek
Bus Lines from 1941 until 1957 and also had operated a bus line from Lebanon, Va., to Grundy,

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Jane Osborne of Rt. 1, Hurley; three daughters, Mrs. Alberta Stevenson of Meadow View, Va., Mrs. Lasetta Fields of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Wanda Coeburn of St. Joseph, Ind,: four sons, Ivan Osborne of Richlands, Va.,. Hansel Eugene Osborne and Cecil Osborne, both of Defiance, Ohio, and Waverley Osborne of Panama City, Fla.; two stepsons, Stephen Matney and James Matney, both of Hurley; one sister, Mrs. Laura Gregg of War, one brother, Charles Osborne of Pearley, Va.; 25 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the North Side Church of Christ of
Wolford, Va., with Michael Trent, Earl Farmer and Phillip Lee officiating.

Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery
near the home.

Friends will be pallbearers.

The body had been removed from Virginia Funeral Home to the church.
