George Washington Ferguson, 71, born June 30, 1889, Boxwell, Kentucky passed away January 26 at his home in Marquand. Services and burial were held at Old Union Cemetery near Bessville in Bollinger County on January 29.

Mr. Ferguson, a member of Marquand Methodist Church for the past 35 years and a veteran of World War I, had been a resident of Madison and Bollinger County for the past 37 years, He was united in marriage to to Lillie Pearl Bess, on February 26, 1923 at Hollywood, Missouri, and to this union five children were born.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Herbert and Willard of Marquand; one son, Thomas, of Farmington; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Smith of Fort Dix, New Jersey, and Mrs. Mabel Lombardi, of Erie, Pennsylvania. One brother and one sister died earlier.
