Actor. Born into a family that was financially well-off for a number of generations, he always dreamed of becoming an actor. After graduation from Culver Military Academy in 1963, he studied History in Civilization at Occidental College. His lengthy association with the theatre began at the Barter Theatre of Virginia, before moving onto the Cherry Lane Theater in New York. His experience on the stage prepared him for Hollywood and he launched his motion picture career with a role of substance as Captain Richard N. Jenson in the Oscar garnered picture "Patton" (1970). This was followed with numerous TV guest roles in the programs "The F.B.I.", "Ironside", "Emergency!" and the opportunity to appear with his screen idol John Wayne in the picture "Cahill U.S. Marshall" (1973). He earned a part opposite Charlton Heston in "The Last Hard Men" (1976) and was cast in the Robert Aldrich thriller "Twilight's Last Gleaming" (1977). Paull found himself once again appearing in an Academy Award associated picture "Norma Rae" (1979) and was cast in what is perhaps his best remembered role as Holden opposite Harrison Ford in the Ridley Scott film "Blade Runner" (1982). Paull was active within the Actors Equity Association, the Screen Actors Guild and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In addition to acting, he served as a talent agent. He died from cancer.
