Mrs. Aprile was born on September 3, 1917, in Sanger to Dominic and Angelina DeCanio, and was one of seven children.
She spent her entire life living in Sanger, where she was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Bernice was married to Paul Aprile for 48 years and together ran Aprile's Place, for over 40 years.
Bernice loved living in Sanger, knowing and caring for many. Her main goal in life was taking care of the ones she loved, especially her husband and only son, Mike. Bernice loved her grandchildren, and was blessed with four, Nicholas, Kaitlin, Azalee, and Alyssa.
Bernice was very independent, living on her own, managing her own affairs, making her own appointments and driving up to the age of 90.
The last four years, Bernice was under the care of Cottonwood Court Memory Center, and the dedicated staff who assisted her in her daily life in dealing with Alzheimer's.
She is survived by her only son Michael; and her four grandchildren, Nicholas, Kaitlin, Azalee, and Alyssa.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on "O" Street in Sanger on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Sanger Cemetery.
