"Big Daddy" Juan Albert Briano, age 36, died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, in Klamath Falls.
Family and friends will celebrate his life at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, in the Worship Center of BBC Ministries, 4849 S. Sixth St., with Pastor Kraig Kroeker officiating. Following private visitation, cremation was performed by Klamath Cremation Service.
Juan was born in Klamath Falls to Wilma Laverne (Albert) and Juan Briano on July 27, 1970.
He was raised in San Diego and studied corrections at Fresno Community College. He worked as a correctional officer for Madera County Department of Corrections before moving to Klamath Falls in 1995 to help his mother take care of her foster care household.
Because he had a strong sense of responsibility, he was an ardent worker dedicated to providing for his family. In the Klamath Basin, he worked at numerous jobs, including the Klamath-Lake County Youth Ranch and the Klamath County Juvenile Detention Department. A short time ago, he started his own business, "J's Quality Connections," setting up satellite television connections.
Juan was a devoted Christian and had a passion to help others. His heart went out to children in a variety of life's predicaments, including family abuse and lack of food. In addition to being a thoughtful counselor to many, he always had a special way of bringing smiles to the faces of others.
Juan loved working with his hands. He enjoyed figuring out why things worked and was an excellent computer technician. He also liked repairing numerous household items.
He appreciated all types of music and had a wonderful singing voice. The family often enjoyed singing together while traveling to the Lava Beds or Crater Lake and going camping, fishing and boating.
Survivors include his wife Anna Briano of Klamath Falls; children Patricia Andaverde, Gilbert Andaverde, Michael Gonzalez, and Juan Briano, Jr., all of Klamath Falls, and Karina Briano and Emilio Briano, both of Madera, Calif.; his twin granddaughters Annabel Marie Lawson and Izabel Nichole Lawson of Klamath Falls; his brothers Sammy Briano, Juanito Briano, Kevin Jones, and Michael Jones and his wife Robin; his sisters and brothers-in-law Elizabeth and Jorge Macias, Lorena and Erick Burrola, and Jeannette Briano; his mother Wilma Ramirez of Klamath Falls; his father and stepmother Juan and Gloria Briano; his paternal grandmother; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by many dear friends, including Carrie Berg and her family, Selva Gonzalez and her children Casadie, Genavy and Gabriel, Maria Betancourt, Earl and Ina Miller, Richard and Naomi Smith, and Peggy Payan and her family.
