William A Yearta "Will" is shown a member of an Army Engineer Unit returning to the US aboard a military transport. There is a 1910 Census digital entry of a Will A "Nearta" of Alabama, age 21 [date of census April 1900. That would give a birth year 1888 for someone born in the month of October Wife's name on digital record is "Onie". A careful examination of the photocopy census page containing this record shows the entry was very probably "Yearta" His wife name is "OMIE". The only child listed is "E D Nearta" age 2. This would match the couple's firstborn Emmett Daniel Yearta born in 1908. Later census with various spellings of Yearta in Alabama & Georgia have consistent ages.
This conflicts with the grave marker. I am changing his birth date to reflect census and other "in life" records to Oct 22, 1888. I may very possibly be Oct 22, 1887. Comments and further information is welcome by the manager [2023] RJALLEN
