Jared was born March 11, 1982 to Steven Wagstaff Mason, and Shaun Hamby Cornell. He was a very big boy, weighing at 9lbs 3oz., and was 21" long. He was a very happy baby, and laughed a lot. His grandmother gave him the nickname of "des", his mother continued calling him that, up until he passed away.
He went to various Elementary schools, he lived most of his life with his grandmother. He had a few girlfriends, until he met Sara Isolampi in 1998 whom he had his daughter Jordyn with in 2000. She was a premature baby, and was in the hospital for 3 months after her birth. She weighed only 1lb 5 oz, and was 12" long. As big as a dollar bill, which she fit in the palm of her daddy's hand. He loved her with all his heart. He had this outgoing spirit that was infectious. He loved pitbulls and would have had as many has he could. He was a great person, fun loving, and a joy to be with. He liked to play the guitar, and learned from his mother, and his uncle Jack whom he was very fond of. He worked in various industries, and went to Salt Lake Community College for welding, and eventually graduated, getting a Welding Certification. He was very smart, and could fix just about anything he put his mind to.
Jared is survived by his daughter Jordyn Taylor Hamby, parents Dave and Shaun Hamby Cornell, step-daughters Kylysta, Brelynne, and Madison. He is preceeded in death by his grandmother Maxine, four uncles, Everett Warren, Jackie Lenn, Roger Darwin, and Ronnie Gene Hamby. Also his pitbull "Tankerton".
This tragedy came unexpectedly as all deaths do, and no one is ready for it, emotionally, or financially. That being said, due to the expenses of the funeral, the graveside, and headstone for Jared, the family has set up a Memorial/Funeral Fund under Jared Hamby at Wells Fargo Bank. Any/all help that can be given to ease the burden of the families would be greatly appreciated, and needed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday July 19th, 2012 at the Valley View 2nd Ward building, 4395 S. Albright Drive (2145 East) Holladay, Utah. Family and Friends can visit from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens 1075 E. College St. (4580 S.) Salt Lake City, UT. Memories and tributes can be sent to the family at (http://www.holbrookmorturary.com/) In lieu of flowers the family suggest that contributions be sent to a fund set up for his daughter Jordyn Hamby donation account at Mountain America Credit Union.
