Merle A. Hogan, 94, of 2000 East State Street, died Tuesday, May 21, 1996, in Holt Healthcare Centre. Born October 12, 1901 in Leaf River, the daughter of Samuel and Carrie Marks Funk. Married Daniel V. Hogan on Dec. 29, 1920, in Rockford; he died May 14, 1982. She was also per deceased by her sister, Leah Fisher. Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Dorothy) Hogan and Jason (Charlotte) Hogan of Rockford; daughter, Janet (Martin) McGinn of Oregon; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, in Farrell-Holland Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant St., Byron. Visitation from 1 p.m. to service time, Thursday in the funeral home.
