Services held for Gustafson

Funeral services for Delmore C. Gustafson, 71, Dayton, were held Friday afternoon, June 6. The 1:30 p.m. services were conducted at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dayton, by Rev. Delpho Peterson. Interment was in the Dayton Cemetery. The Carson Funeral Home completed arrangements.

Mr. Gustafson passed away Wednesday morning, June 4, at Trinity West Hospital, Fort Dodge. He had suffered a heart attack at his home earlier that morning.

During the services Mrs. Leonard Anderson presented several vocal selections accompanied by Marie Thomann. Caring for the flowers were Mrs. Olger Strand and Mrs. Russell Hanson. Pall bearers were Calvin Burkgren, Robert Burkgren, Wilbert Danielson, Lester Danielson, Carl Samuelson and Harvey Samuelson.

Among the survivors are one brother and two sisters, Raymond and Viola Gustafson and Mrs. Harris (Lillian) Putzke, all of rural Dayton, three nephews and two nieces, Samuel and Harley Putzke of Dayton, Robert Gustafson of Ssan Diego, Mrs. Monte Posey of San Francisco and Mrs. Peter Jarvis of Alaska, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Gustafson was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Gustafson and a brother, Gilbert. He was born September 22, 1903 at Dayton and attended rural schools and Dayton High School. Since then he has been engaged in farming. He was a life-long member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, having been baptized and confirmed there in his youth.
