Leona Lann Cummings, 83, of Smithville, died May 7, 1994 at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County, being born in the Bethlehem Community and living most of her adult life in Smithville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pearce Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Services were May 9 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Smithville with burial in the Pearce Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors included her husband, Troy Columbus Cummings of Smithville, whom she married in 1928; two sons, Charles Cummings and Roy Lillard Cummings, both of Smithville; three daughters, Irene Gregory of Smithville, Jean Kendrick and Madine Webb, both of Amory; two brothers, Burley Lann of Smithville and Clyde Lann of Nettleton; one sister, Ruby Cole of Nettleton; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
