Last rites for Edward Turner, 52, former Mayfield resident who was killed when struck by a car in St. Louis Saturday, were held at the Byrn Funeral home here at 10:30 o'clock this morning. Rev. F. B. Jones, pastor of the First Methodist church, conducted the services. Interment was in Maplewood.
Turner, who formerly operated a coal delivery truck here, moved to St. Louis about three years ago and was engaged in the same business there. He was evidently crossing a street when struck by the car Saturday. His head was crushed in the impact and he died thirty minutes later in the St. Louis county hospital. The body arrived in Mayfield at 9 o'clock yesterday morning and was removed to the Byrn funeral home.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mollie Turner, of near Paris, Tenn., and his widow, Mrs. Ruby Turner. He also leaves two brothers and two sisters besides a host of other relatives and friends.
