Linda (Anderson) Regan, 65, of Andover, beloved wife of the late Louis Labonte and former wife of John Regan, died peacefully at Salmon Brook Nursing Home on Thursday morning after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Manchester on September 25, 1946, step-daughter of Robert Shaffer of Cooperstown, NY and the late Lynn Pellici of Glastonbury, she is survived by a son and daughter; Sean Regan and wife Tammy of Coventry, and Christina Regan-Ardito of Middletown; three grandchildren, Molly Regan, Liam and Kiernan Ardito; twin sister, Carol Kittle of Manchester and brother, Clark Anderson and wife Denise of Los Angeles, CA; nieces and nephews, Stacey Kittle and partner Angela Wilson-Stone and their children Akilah, Nailah, Greyson, and Shane; Meredith Regan and husband Mark; Deanne Regan and partner Thom Apgar; Keith Regan; and Christian and Clay Anderson. She leaves her dear, life-long friend, Gloria Wood of Wethersfield; her close friend, Beth Acelin, who was like a daughter to her; and her many friends of Hop River Homes in Andover.

The family sends their thanks to the staff of Salmon Brook Nursing Home of Glastonbury and Masonicare of East Hartford for the wonderful care Linda received. Linda adored and cherished her grandchildren; they were her little angels.

She was an accomplished artist, with sculptured canvas displayed at the entrance of the Wadsworth Atheneum. Linda was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Coventry for over 40 years, a charter member of Hartford B.P.W., and a member of the Hartford Club.

She was the catering director for the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA. Linda worked for Tolland High School and was a cheerleading coach. One of her proudest accomplishments was being an Assistant Chef at the Blair House in Washington, D.C. and serving the Queen of England and Queen of Denmark.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, (October 17, 2011) at 1 p.m. at Presbyterian Church of Coventry, 55 Trowbridge Road. Burial will follow at Grant Hill Road Cemetery in Coventry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Coventry, CT or the Andover CT Volunteer Fire Department. Published in The Hartford Courant on October 15, 2011
