HOUSTON, TEX. -- Ben Rush Cottingham, 77, a native of Opelousas and resident of Houston for 55 years, died Saturday, April 5.

He was a retired employe of Houston Natural Gas Corp., with 37 years of service and was a member of the Houston Central Lions Club.

Survivors include his widow, the former Lena Dora Allen, also a native of Opelousas; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Ann Adams of Pasadena, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Laura Fahey of Beaumont, Tex., and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 7 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. Burial was in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
