U.S. Congressman. He graduated from the Oklahoma State University in 1951, joined the US Air Force, flew twenty-seven combat missions during the Korean War, (1951-55) and was awarded Air Medal. After the war, he owned and operated a ranch in Texas, was a delegate of Texas State Republican conventions, (1964, 1966, 1968) and a delegate in the Republican National Convention, 1968. In 1967, he was elected as a Republican to the Ninetieth Congress and to the next three succeeding Congresses, serving until 1975. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he served as a member of the Texas State Senate, (1978-80).
