George Thomas Cozad was the son of Benjamin Cozad and Sarah Jane Rohrbough. He is buried next to his wife, Sophia Minerva Lockwood Cozad, and daughter Verla Cozad Turner, in the Rose Hill A Section, Lot 136.

Tom Cozad Dies at 96
Thomas Cozad, 96, died this morning at a St. Joseph hospital. He was a retired foreman for the National Biscuit Co.
A native of Elvaston, Ill., Mr. Cozad made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Verla Turner, 2323 Duncan street. A resident here 60 years, he was a member of Huffman Memorial Methodist Church.
In addition to the daughter, survivors include one son, Thomas Dale Cozad, St. Joseph; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The body is at the Heaton-Bowman mortuary, where services will be at 1:30 Tuesday in the chapel, the Rev. Wilber C. Denney officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Thomas Cozad was honored with a family party in observance of his 95th birthday, Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Turner, 2323 Duncan street. Mr. Cozad was born in Illinois but has resided most of his life in St. Joseph, and now makes his home with the daughter. He is a retired foreman of the National Biscuit Co. here.
Also present for the party were a son, T.D. Cozad and his wife of St. Joseph, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Another son, Lee Cozad of Sedalia, was unable to be present.
