Mrs. Underwood was born in Easley, SC, on August 29, 1932, a daughter of the late Vera (Holiday) and Edward Bagwell.
She was the widow of Jesse Underwood, retired from Kempson Rexall and was a member of Inman First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Smith and husband Danny of Travelers Rest, SC; a son, Steve Underwood, of Inman; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Terri Lynn Cooley; and a grandson, Michael Todd Smith.
The family received friends Monday, July 16, 2012, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at Seawright funeral Chapel, Inman at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 16, 2012. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
In addition to flowers, memorials could be made to Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
