Wife of Robert Lincoln Brannon, Jr.

EDITH LEE KING BRANNON was born on June 24, 1938 in Whitewright, TX. She passed away on March 15, 2001 at home in Carrollton, TX with family close by after a long battle with emphysema. Edye was a very active and independent woman with a strong enthusiasm for life before her illness forced her to retire. Her motto was "Don't try, do it!" She enjoyed traveling, reading and had a fondness for gardening. Edye went to Sherman High School in Sherman, TX. Later, she lived in Dallas and Houston, and worked most of her life as an office worker, teacher, writer and real estate agent. She retired from the Dallas County Agricultural Extension Service. Edye was preceded in death by her parents, Naomi Ruth McCurdy King Lewis and Raymond Auto "Pete" King. Those still around to miss her are her sister and brother Genny King and Jimmy King of Sherman, daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Carlos Drane of Carrollton, granddaughter Casey, stepsister Dorothy Jones of Mesquite, one niece, three nephews, and lifelong friends Billie Dopslauf and Barbara Moore. Edye is buried in the Long Creek Cemetery in Sunnyvale, TX. In lieu of flowers or donations, Edye and her family asks that readers do whatever it takes to quit smoking. It's been one year since you went home, Mom, and we still miss you.
