Former Basketball Coach in he Area, William Jesko, Dies

William J. Jesko, 45, a former teacher and basketball coach at Fayette City and Marion High Schools, died unexpectedly at 11:30 p.m. Saturday at his home in Whitehall.
Mr. Jesko was a Spanish teacher and head basketball coach at Baldwin Twp. High School at the time of his death. He was graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1937, where he captioned the basketball team the same year.
He taught and coached at Fayette City and Marion shortly after graduating from college.
Mr. Jesko a veteran of World War II was also a member of St Elizabeth R.C. Church in Pleasant Hill.
He is survived by his widow, Frances Stockus Jesko; two daughters, Joyce and Darlene, at home; two sisters, Mrs. William (Sophie) Palonis and Mrs. Daniel (Betty) Matuscak, both of Pittsburgh, and a brother, Joseph, also of Pittsburgh.
Friends are being received at the Mara J. Cieslak Funeral Home, 2935 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood. He will be buried in Belle Vernon Cemetery following Wednesday morning services from his home parish.
