Sylvia Crossman married Enoch Hunt, and they were the parents of the following children: Sildia, Polly, Sally, Peddy, John, Joseph, Zebina, and Simeon. Sylvia Hunt was applying for a pension related to her deceased husband's military service.  She could not find a marriage certificate, so she had to have witnesses attest to the fact that they were married.  There is one paper signed by Enoch Hunt outlining his military service, one filed by Mary Hunt who says she was married to Enoch's brother Stephen and could attest that Enoch and Sylvia were married, and then there is Peddy's who seems to be certifying her parents' birth dates and also giving documentation of the birth dates of the family and information about the death of Simeon.  Below is Peddy's oath:
I Peddy Read of Taunton in the County of Bristol in the commonwealth of Massachusetts aged fifty two years, do testify and say that Enoch Hunt late of Taunton aforesaid, deceased, was my father & Sylvia Hunt who now resides in Attleborough in said county of Bristol, is my mother –
I further testify that the little book here to appended containing the record of the birth of Enoch Hunt & Sylvia Hunt & the births of their children.  I have known near forty years – It was kept by my mother.  She resided in my family from some time in November 1814 to some time in May 1835, excepting about five years of said time – In 1835 she removed to Attleborough where she now resides – The record of the death of my brother Simeon Hunt & of my father Enoch Hunt, was entered in said little book by myself – who made the entries of the births aforesaid in said little book.  I do not know – I do not know the handwriting.  They must have been made near forty years ago – Peddy Reed
Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Bristol M.  July 6, 1839.  Peddy Reed made oath to the truth of the above affidavit by her signed Before me A Barrett Just. of Peace – and I certify that said Peddy Reed is a credible witness – A Barrett.
This certifies that Simeon Hunt, Son of Enoch Hunt, was born in Taunton September 23 in the year 1799.  Appears on record.  Attest James Williams Town Clerk
