ATHENS — Johnnie Richard Robinson, 84, of Athens, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Robinson was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Limestone County to Thomas Douglas Robinson and Sadie Owens Robinson.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery with Robert Fudge and Jason Black officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Robinson was a member of Ephesus Church of Christ. He loved his beloved wife Wanda, his family, his church, fishing and Alabama football.

He is survived by his wife, Wandazell Robinson of Athens; three daughters, Wanda Diane Terry (Butch) of Pelham, Kaye Pepper (Tim) of Elkmont and Melody Stewart (Dwight) of Decatur; son, John R. Robinson Jr. (Lynne) of Ellijay, Ga; brother, Aaron Robinson of Ardmore; two sisters, Elizabeth Renegar of Ardmore and Patricia Usery of Elkmont; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Robinson, Clint Rodgers, Lance Pepper, Dax Robinson, Brandon Pepper, Josh Miller, Jimmy Robinson, Jason Black and John Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Ed Wright, Jeremy Robinson and Aaron Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Hospice of Limestone County.
