Marjorie Fillis, age 81, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 23, 2004 in Salt Lake City, UT. Marjorie was born October 15, 1922 in Duchesne, UT, daughter of Ernest and Afton Crocker. On September 19, 1941 she married her High School Sweetheart Dewey Fillis in Richfield, UT. Marge was an avid golfer and was a Utah State Champion five times. She was inducted into the Utah State Hall of Fame in 2002. She served with the Utah Department of Social Services for 30 years, receiving numerous recognitions for her outstanding service. Marjorie is survived by her children: Marilyn and Monty Joyner, Dale and Becky Fillis, Susan Cook; seven grandchildren, 26 great-grand-children; her brother, Ret. Lt. Col. Lawrence and Pat Crocker. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Dewey, her parents and one grandson Philip Joyner. Funeral services for Marjorie held on Friday, August 27, 2004 at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
