"On a quiet Sunday morning I slipped away from home and married Jefferson Davis Pace. I was sixteen years old. Papa and Mama were very upset because I was so young.

We lived in Claiborne Parrish and farmed several years. We moved to Springhill where J.D. worked at the International Paper mill. I worked at the Army Ammunition plant near Minden several years.

After retiring we moved to Calhoun where I now live near my daughter Ann. I enjoy church work, sewing my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren."
