She was killed when the car in which she was riding left the highway and she was thown out of the front seat, the auto skidding over her. The driver, Mrs. Leonard Ashley, and her husband also were thrown out when the front doors of the car came open. They are confined at Community Hospital in Laurel.
Others in the car, Patsy Ruth's mother, her sister, Zena Ann Geriner of Mt. Olive, and her grandmother, Mrs. Annie Ashley of Meridian, were not hurt.
Patsy Ruth was a student at Mt. Olive Elemental School. The Geriners live in Shiloh Community, which is near Mt. Olive.
In addition to her parents and the sister and grandmother who were in the car, she is survived by two brothers. G. W. Geriner, with the Army at Fort Campbell, Ky., and George Geriner, Jr., with the Air Force at Duluth, Minn.; another sister, Mrs. Billie Joe Aldridge of Memphis, and her paternal grandfather, Henry Geriner of Memphis.
