An obituary published in the Herald and Review for Robert C. Young, 84, of Shelbyville, states he had died January 24, 1996 in the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born in Holland Township on April 12, 1911, the son of Ermer U. and Lucinda Belle Smith Young. He married Juanita Page on March 11, 1939. Surviving were his wife; son, George Young and wife Linda of Loda; brothers, Lley and Joe Young, both of Shelbyville; sisters, Mrs. John (Wanda) Kennedy of Westlake Village, Calif.; Phyllis Hrehovcsik of Lincoln; and one granddaughter, Mrs. Donald (Tara Renee) Schanks of Whiteman Air Force Base, Knob Noster, Mo. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Sterling, Elgin, Hershel Dean and Mike Young, sister, Melba Jean Young, and twin sister, Roberta Bonser. He was an experimental engineer for the Oliver Corp., from 1958-1963 was sales manager for the Kansas City branch and from 1963-1969 was manager of the Oliver Dealership in Shelbyville. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Shelbyville.
