Warren Edwin McIntyre, 69, of Shelbyville, Ind., died at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 1993, at the Major Hospital, Shelbyville.
He was born March 10, 1924, Indianapolis, the son of Oral E. and Lelia M. (Goins) McIntyre. He was a Shelby County resident all his life.
McIntyre worked for the Shelbyville Allis Chalmer Farm Equipment and Dealer for 23 years. He also worked several years for Reith Riley Paving Contractors and the former Shoemaker Asphault Inc., both of Indianapolis, retiring in 1988. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, where he was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Shelbyville. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2695, Shelbyville, where he served as the post commander district commander, district inspector, the state extension officer and the national aide-de-camp.
He was also a member of the American Legion post 70, Shelbyville, where he served as post commander twice, district finance officer, and senior vice commander. He was a member of the Cotties, Richmond, Ind., Forty and Eight, Shelbyville and Eagles Lodge 766, Shelbyville, Tillman and Bricks 82nd Airborne, Indianapolis, and Teamsters local 716, Indianapolis.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Ann Fuller, Shelbyville, and Melanie McColley, Duluth, Minn.; one son, Warren Michael Rybolt, Shelbyville; six sisters, Lillian Jean Conway, Shelbyville, Mrs. Lawrence (Marilyn) McAhren, San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Brown, Batesville, Ind., Mrs. Robert (Rita) M. Simmons, Adams, Rosemary Boling, North Vernon, Ind., and Mrs. Eddy (Brenda) Dwenger, Greensburg; four brothers, Norman Richard McIntyre, Richmond, Va., Larry McIntyre, Orlando, Fla., Harold McIntyre, Hartsville, Ind., and Jerry Bob McIntyre, Greensburg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. Brian High officiating.
Burial will be at the Winchester Cemetery, Shelby County.
Military graveside rites will be conducted at the cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
