Born to Charlie and Mamie Shaw.
She confessed to Jesus Christ at an early age, where she attended Pilgram Rest Baptist Church in Tuscalooasa, Alabama.

Her life brought her to North Carolina where she attended Nursing School and graduated as an LVN.

She also attended Cosmetology School and obtained a degree in Cosmetology. Later in 1996 she moved to Ridgecrest and joined the Union Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorship of Rev. Douglas Hearns.

There she taught a Youth Sunday School class, President of the Mission Dept., sang in the Adult Choir and also received her license as an Evangelist of Ministry and worked in the ministry of help.

She loved to travel, read her bible, and spend time with her grandchildren and family.

She leaves to cherish her Dad, Charlie Shaw of Havelock, North Carolina;
Mother, Mamie and Stepfather, Paul Thomas of Elyria, Ohio;
Two Sisters, Shirley and Husband Willie Sanders of Elyria, Ohio; and Margaret Shaw of Chicago, Illinois.
Also her Children, Stanton, Derrick, Jimmie, Candace of Ridgecrest and Step-daughter, Mesha of Denver, Colorado.
She had three Aunts, Willie Mae Barker of Elyria, Ohio;
Corene Faulkner, of Boston West Virigina; and Zella B. Austin of Los Angeles.
She also leaves eight grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
