He was born January 15, 1916 in Amboy, across from the Amboy Grain Company to the late Claude and Mae (Jefferis) Aukerman. He lived his whole life on the same street and with his wife of 73 years.
He married Eleanor R. (Trook) Aukerman July 4, 1936. She survives.
He graduated from Amboy High School. He owned and operated Amboy Grain Company. He was a member of Amboy Friends Church and also Converse Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include daughters, Karen (Don) Zimmerman, Cincinnati, Ohio, Rhea Miller, Indianapolis, and Lana (Jonathan) Sprague, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Suma.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009 in Amboy Friends Church, 110 E. Pennsylvania St., Amboy with Rev. Dwight Elliott officiating. Burial is in Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Amboy Friends Church.
