Rebecca Adele Duncan Lavender, 56 years of age, of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, July 12th, 2012 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was known as Moner and Nana to her grandchildren.

She was born on September 25th, 1955 in Milford, Ohio and raised there. She was one of six children, of Thomas and Irene Duncan. She was a teacher in the McCreary County schools and a graduate of Cumberland College.

Rebecca was survived by her father, Thomas E. Duncan of Bronston, Kentucky; two children, William Ross (and Sharon) Lavender and Emily Kate Lavender; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Riley, Jenna, and Isabella; three sisters, Ann Cain, Stephanie (and Michael) McDonald, and Beth (and John) Tripp; many loving nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephew; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lora Irene Vickery Duncan; and two sisters, Deborah Tompkins and Karen Duncan.

Visitations were held on Tuesday, July 17th, 2012 after 10:00 a.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 17th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Dustin York officiating.

Interment followed in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset, Kentucky.
