CARL G. BRIDENBAUGH
Carl Griffith Bridenbaugh, superintendent of the Blair County Children's Home at Williamsburg, died suddenly at 6:45 o'clock yesterday evening from a heart attack.
Mr. Bridenbaugh had been head of the county institution for the past ten years, having been appointed steward two years prior to that, in 1927.
Born October 10, 1884, in Martinsburg he was the son of Philip H. and Catherine (Oelling) Bridenbaugh.
He was a graduate of the Hollidaysburg High school and of Mercersburg Academy, and was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad company at Hollidaysburg during the years, of
the World War.
Active in lodges and fraternal orders, Mr. Bridenbaugh' was a member of Portage lodge. Free and Accepted Masons, Jaffa Shrine, Shrine Chanters and the Harrisburg Consistory.
He was also" secretary of the Chimney Rocks Beagle club of
Hollidaysburg and the " Williamsburg Lions' club. He was an elder in Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church at Williamsburg.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Catherine Bridenbaugh, of Martinsburg; his wife, Rebecca Dean (Gifford) Bridenbaugh and one son, Gifford,both of Williamsburg, as well as the following brothers and sisters: Dr. C. S. Bridenbaugh of Emlinton. Mrs. William Loch of Greenville; Mrs. Catherine Myers, Williamsburg; Mrs. Carl H. Beck, Frostburg,
Md.; P. H. Bridenbaugh, New Castle; Mrs. William H. Bolger,
Shamokin; Louis J. Bridenbaugh, Saxton, and Miss Mae Bridenbaugh and Mrs. P. L. Snyder, both of Martinsburg.
Arrangements for funeral services will be announced later.
