"Funeral services for Raymond G Nolan, a former alderman of the Fourth ward, who died suddenly at his home, 802 Grand court, at 1:15 pm Tusday, will be held at the home at 8:30 am Friday to St Paul the Apostle church at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Marguerite's cemetery. The body was returned to the home by the Halligan funeral home at noon today.
Mr. Nolan, president of the Nolan Office Supply Co, was born in Davenport, Dec. 15, 1894 and was educated in St. Mary's parochial school. He entered the United States army at the outbreak of the World war and was discharged on June 25, 1919. He married Miss Marguerite McVey, Nov 27, 1930, the ceremony taking place at St. Alphonsus church. Mrs. Nolan died two years ago.
He was a member of Davenport post No. 26 of the American Legion and was past commander of Galbraith post No. 828, V.F.W.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Rae and Mary Renee, both of Davenport; his father, John E. Nolan; five brothers, Edward O, John B, Maurice J, Roger, and Cyril U, all of Davenport and three sisters, Mrs. R.F. Gorman, Cedar Rapids; Veronica and Camille Nolan of Davenport. His mother and a brother preceded him in death.
His brother C.U. Nolan is now alderman of the Second ward."
