Lessie Mae Ferrier Chelette, 87, of Moss Bluff, LA, died at 9:20 AM on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Chelette was born May 17, 1927 in Colfax, LA and a longtime resident of the Moss Bluff area. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church.

Mrs. Chelette is survived by her daughters; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fountain Jefferson “Paw Paw” Chelette and son-in-law, Todd Sullivan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 28, 2014 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Father John Huckaby will serve as celebrant. Burial will follow at old Ritchie cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM with a rosary to be recited at 11:30 AM.
