ASHBY RITES HELD THURS.

Harvey Lee Ashby, 77, died at Mercy hospital in Burlington Tuesday Feb. 22. He was a lifelong resident of Louisa county. The son of James and Lydia Keever Ashby, he was born April 22, 1888 in Louisa county.

He married Edna Nott on May 12, 1909. She preceded him in death in March, 1957.

Survivors include three children, Mrs. Belva Tee of Oquawka, and Clyde and John both of Burlington; one brother, Fred Ashby of Wapello and one sister, Mrs. Alma Young of Oakville; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, Feb 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the Dudgeon-McCulley funeral home in Wapello, with the Rev. Robert Dodder of the Methodist church, officiating.

Mrs. Phyllis McCulley was at the organ and the flowers were cared for by his granddaughters. Bearers were Don Stein, TEd Moore, Donald Gillette, Ralph Messer, William Milburn and Jack Thompson.

Interment was in the Wapello Cemetery.
