He was born on February 1, 1942 to the late Edward L. and DeLeah B. (Crego) Thompson. Ronald was a retired truck driver and had worked for the Buckeye Egg Farm and Stewart and Inlow Construction Company. He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
Ronald is survived by his soul mate of 22 years, Dorless Barnhart, his children, Ronald E. (JoAnn) Thompson of Buckeye Lake, Brenda (Allen) Taylor, Tracy (Larry) Webb and Stacy Decker all of Newark, Natosha (Joe) Tarbert of Bladensburg, Chance (Andrea) Thompson of North Carolina, Michael Barnhart of Newark and Chad (Jennifer) Barnhart of Mount Vernon, two sisters, Barbara (Gerald) Stroup of Tennessee, Patricia Stroup of Florida and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Stevens, brothers, Edward Jr. and Frederick L. Thompson, sisters, Ethel Thompson and Lillian Roderick.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00PM at the Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Bladensburg, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00AM with Pastor Scott Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery.
