Ray Plagens-He was rated one of the top organists and pianists in the American Southwest, in constant demand for entertainment at public and private events in addition to his radio and TV work in Dallas, Texas. A musical prodigy, he began playing the piano at the age of 4 and at 7 became the pianist of First Baptist Church. He made the piano and the organ his career after graduation from high school in 1941, and after 36 months in the Air Force he settled in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area, where he eventually became music director of WFAA-TV. He died from drowning in 1972.
