Mr. Barrett was born in Polk County on March 11, 1906, and was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church. Prior to retirement he was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Malline Crocker Barrett, Cedartown; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Edge, Rockmart; three brothers, Everett Barrett and Roy Barrett, both of Cedartown, and the Rev. Hugh Barrett, Carrollton.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Gammage Funeral Home in Cedartown. The Rev. Charles Drummond officiated and interment was in Polk Memory Gardens. (The Rockmart Journal, Wed., Sept. 9, 1987)
