Arthur O. Barrick, 75, of 405 N. Morris St., Shippensburg, died early Saturday morning, Oct. 17, 1998 in his home.
He was born Sept. 6, 1923 in Newville. He was the son of the late John and Grace Zinn Barrick.
Mr. Barrick retired following 37 years employment at Letterkenny Army Depot. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as an infantry sergeant in Africa, Italy and Germany.
He was a member of Shippensburg Church of the Brethren, Cumberland Valley Lodge #315 Free and Accepted Masons; Valley Forests #145 Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Shippensburg Scottish Rite Club; the Harrisburg Consistory; and the Durff-Kuhn Post 6168 Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Oscar Hykes Post 223 American Legion, the Hub City Club and the Minnequa Social Club, all of Shippensburg.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Shughart Barrick; a daughter, Karan A. Killian of Chambersburg; four brothers, Eber, Fred and Robert Barrick, all of Carlisle, and Quinter Barrick of Newville; four sisters, Nellie Negley and Pauline Barrick, both of Carlisle, Vivian Burkholder of Newville, and Edna Tarner of Shippensburg; three granddaughters and one great granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services are Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998 at 2:30 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg, with his pastor, the Rev. Alan E. Miller, officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. by the Cumberland Valley Lodge #315 F.&A.M. A viewing will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
