Mr Bates was born November 22, 1900 in Bryan and lived there until about three years ago when he moved to Florence Mines after his marriage to Miss Edith Layton.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by his mother, two sisters, Mrs Clyde Hixon of Pennville and Mrs Earl Chew of Jeannette
