MATHIAS PRINCL

Matt Princl, 81, died Friday afternoon at his home in Mishicot.
Funeral services will be held at 8:45 p.m. Monday at the Specht funeral home
in Mishicot and at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic church in Tisch Mills.
The Rev. Joseph Kalisek will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
He was born in 1868 in Bohemia and came to this country at the age of five. The
family lived on a farm near Mishicot and in 1888 he married Barbara Levanetz.
They operated a farm before moving to the village 23 years ago. Mr. Princl had
been doing mechanical work until ill health prevented him from continuing. He
was Gibson town assessor for 18 years and the church treasurer for several years.
Two years ago the Princls celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Survivors
are the wife; three sons, Ed, of Wausau, John of LaPorte, Ind. and George, on
the homestead farm; sister, Mrs. Anna Kretche of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren
and 12 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 o'clock this evening and the rosary
will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Mishicot Couple Renew Vows on Golden Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Matt Princl of Misicot renewed their marriage vows during a high mass read by the Rev. J. C. Kalisek at St. Mary's Catholic church at Tisch Mills Sunday morning in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary. Thirty-five guests were entertained at dinner and supper, and during the evening the couple was serenaded by a band.
Mr. and Mrs. Princl, who were married July 3, 1888 at Stangelville, have three sons, John of LaPort, Ind., Edward of Wausau and George on the home farm; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild born June 20 at La Porte.
Mr. Princl, born at Kamenice, Czechoslovakia, August 9, 1868, came to Manitowoc when he was seven years old with his parents, grandfather and sister. His grandmother died on the ocean voyage. For two weeks they stayed with friends in the town of Mishicot and they bought a farm on Highway 163, one mile north of the village where Mr. Princl took his bride, and lived there until 17 years ago when he purchased the present home in the village. Mrs. Princl, nee Barbara Levanetz, was born at Stangelville May 16, 1869.
They are members of the St. Mary's church, Mr. Princl having served in the capacity of secretary and treasurer of the church for 14 years. While living on the farm he was town assessor of Gibson for five years. Mrs. Princl is a member of the Rosary society.
Mr. Princl has a hobby for machine work and in 1910 he started the operations of a garage. He now is retired but still does small odd jobs in repair work.

Chellis, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Levanitz, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Luebke, Mrs. Mary Grimer, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jacklin, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Urbanek all from Two Rivers and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kronforst Mishicot.
