WENZEL BERANEK

Wenzel Beranek, 82, early Tisch Mills wagonmaker and retired town of Carlton farmer, died Monday afternoon at the farm home on Rt. 1, Kewaunee.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
Wenzel Beranek was born at Tisch Mills in 1870, a son of the late Joseph and Veronica Novak Beranek. In 1896, he married Mary Holly at Tisch Mills, who survives him. After their marriage, Beranek was engaged as a wagonmaker at Tisch Mills and 13 years later, acquired a farm in the town of Carlton from which he retired 13 years ago.
For many years, Beranek was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves six daughters, Mrs. Joseph I. Stangel of Tisch Mills, Mrs. Frank Opichka of Heartland, Wis., Mrs. Leo Sydow and Mrs. Dan Shimek of Manitowoc, Mrs. Robert Stangel of Tisch Mills, Mrs. Gregory Lutz of Nekoosa, Wis.; and two sons, Frank of El Paso, Tex., and Alvin Beranek on the farm home; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Wednesday until the
time of services. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at
8 p.m. Wednesday.
