Eleanor M. Beranek, 97, formerly of 716 Woodside Rd., town of Carlton, Kewaunee Co., entered into eternal rest Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the Linden Manor Assisted Living Facility in Kewaunee. Eleanor was born December 27, 1914, in the town of Franklin, Kewaunee, Co., to the late Wencil and Anna Husnik Dufek. She married Alvin J. Beranek, May 25, 1940, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Norman, and he preceded her in death November 9, 2001. She along with her husband farmed the family farmstead in the town of Carlton, Kewaunee Co., for many years. She was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. She enjoyed baking and canning pickles.
Eleanor is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Katherine Beranek, of Mishicot; Paul and Susan Beranek, of Algoma; one grandaughter, Nicole (Ken) Schultz, of Bonduel; one great-grandaughter, Nikendra; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Lutz, of Wisconsin Rapids. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Joe (Irene) Dufek, James (Dorothy) Dufek, and Victor Dufek.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012, at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church, in Tisch Mills, with the Reverend Dennis Drury officiating, and assisted by Deacon Robert Pribek. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot. There will be a 6 p.m. parish wake service held Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. on Monday at the church, until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Beranek family would like to express a very special thank you to the entire staff of the Linden Manor Assisted Living Facility in Kewaunee, and to all of her neighbors for all the love, special care, and assistance shown to Eleanor through the years. Your kindness will always be remembered.
