Gladys Konop, age 83, of 955 N. 5th St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Monday,
September 14, 1998, at her home.
Private Family Funeral Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Rev. William Zimmer will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to
follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tisch Mills.
The former Gladys Mach was born April 10, 1915, at Stangelville, Wis., daughter
of the late John and Anna Felix Mach. She graduated from high school in Green
Bay, and was a graduate of the Milwaukee State Teacher's College with an
emphasis on hearing and speech correction. Gladys was an accomplished musician,
playing both the piano and organ, as well as other instruments. On August 10,
1946, she was married to Victor C. Konop, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church,
Stangelville. Victor preceded her in death, July 20, 1997. She was a member of
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, The National Teacher's Association, Wisconsin
Teacher's Association and the National Speech and Hearing Association.
Survivors include two sisters and one brother-in-law, Madge (Art) Singer, El Cajon,
Calif., Leona Van Meter, Gurnee, Ill; one sister-in-law, Evangeline Konop, Manitowoc.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Fox and one brother Frank J. Mack.
Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Services, Manitowoc, is serving the family.
