Mrs. Vivian Hand Bewley, of Anderson, died at 2:15 p. m. Monday in Doctors Memorial Convalescent and Nursing Center following several months of declining health.
Mrs. Bewley, widow of William W. Bewley, was born in Chester, a daughter of the late William H. and Alice Gurley Hand. Her father was a former superintendent of Columbia City Schools. She and her husband had resided in Anderson for 30 years were she was manager of the Bailey Court Apartments for sometime. She was a member of First Presbyterian church.
Survivors: foster son Charles B. Jones Jr. of Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Nickerson of Columbia and Mrs. Frank Owens of Columbia; brother-in-law, Hale Bewley, of Dallas, Texas; three sisters-in-law: Mrs. Theo L. Burriss and Mrs. Fred W. Felkel of Anderson and Mrs. W. Goforth of Staunton, Va.
A brother, Harvey Hand, preceded her to the grave.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 3 p. m. at Old Silver Brook Cemetery with the Rev. John Pridgen officiating.
The body is at the Sullivan-King Mortuary.
