SOUTH BURDETT
Frank H. Brown was born, June 16, 1873 [74], at Wilmette, Ill. He died in Grace hospital, Hutchinson, April 17, 1929, aged 55 years and 10 months.
In 1885, he came with his parents to Garfield, Kansas, and grew to manhood on the claim taken by his soldier father, one of the most beautiful homesteads known for its grove and fruit trees for many miles about.
He was reared in a Christian home. He attended church and school at Grass Point, Ill., finishing his education in Edwards county. After the death of his father, he and his mother moved to the present home south of Rozel. August 10, 1927, he was married to Miss Cora Hovey. To this union, two children were born, Ella Gertrude and Frank Herbert.
Frank as he was familiarly known, was a kind and loving husband and father and was happiest when he could be of help to others. He was a worthy man in business and one of the best of friends and neighbors.
Besides his immediate family, he leaves to mourn his loss, four sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Katie Wilson, of Garfield, Mr. Nick Brown, of Pratt, Mrs. Anna Krueger, of Bison, Mr. Joe Brown, of Kinsley, Mrs. Louisa Enfield of Hutchinson, Mrs. Oda Tuttle, of Rozel and Mr. Ed Brown, of Garfield, all of Kansas; five nieces, seven nephews, and a hoset of relatives and friends. The brother, Nick, was the only one who could not be present.
Funeral services were held from the Congregational church at Garfield on Sunday, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Ruff of Burdett, assisted by pastors Johnson and Summers of Garfield. A male quartet, composed of F. Riisoe, Guy Jenkins, Henry Draut and Chas. Burke, sang.
Among the large floral offerings was a pillow with the words, "Brother Frank." Six nephews bore the pall: Frank, Roy and Ross Wilson, Harry and Herbert Brown and Louis Tuttle.
Interment was made in the Garfield cemetery, at Garfield.
