Malinda Lipe Current, 89, of Statesville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2020 after a brief illness. She was born on December 16, 1930 in Rowan County, to the late Glenn and Pearl Stutts Lipe.
Mrs. Current graduated from Brawley High School and retired from Burlington Industries in Mooresville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James of 65 years, brother, Robert (Bob) Lipe.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Anthony (Brian) of Statesville; son, Glenn Current of Hillsville, VA; twin sister, Nancy Lipe Johnston; grandchildren, Cindy Cook (Cleon) of Statesville, Stacy Park (Jae) of Lewisville, NC, Matthew Current (Joni) of Statesville; great grandchildren, Bri Johnson, Mariah Johnson, Honey Park, Jalyn Park, Laiken Park, Aiden Park and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Berea Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Stollger and Rev. Ralph Sparrow officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Honored guests will be Mrs. Current’s Sunday School Class at Berea Baptist Church.
