He worked for most of his adult life at Vitagraph Studios, an extension of Warner Bros. that was bought by the company in 1925. Initially a booker, he worked his way up to being a motion picture representative and district manager for the company in 1934, moving himself and his small family from Salt Lake City to Billings, Montana after the promotion.
On April 12, 1936, Clyde was struck and killed by an oil truck in Billings. He was thirty-six years old. His family buried him next to his father in Salt Lake City on April 19, 1936.
